Emily Loupe, MA, LPC

My Clinical Experience:

I completed my undergraduate at LSU (Geaux Tigers) with a B.S. in Psychology and then spent a gap year in Southern France teaching English. I then moved to New Orleans and completed my Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at NOBTS (New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary).

Following graduation, I moved to Starkville, MS and have worked as a counselor in group practice. I have worked in the public schools through grant work, but primarily in private practice. I love to work with individuals 4+ as well as families. A large focus of my practice has been working with kids with attachment wounds (foster/adoption), trauma, OCD, spiritual abuse, and recent events.

A large focus of my continuing education and consultation has been in using EMDR with kids. I believe that EMDR can be used for any stubborn negative belief or symptom that talk therapy can’t work through. I believe that EMDR is a swiss army knife for therapists and can be used for so many problems in addition to trauma. I love incorporating EMDR with TBRI, Sandtray, and other modalities.

In my personal life, my husband and I live in Starkville, where he is the next generation director at Bridgeway Church. I love going on coffee dates with my husband, Barre, pickleball, and filling my house with plants.
